Tying the Knot at Hazlewood

Ever seen those photos on Instagram where the happy couple are having their first married photos taken under a tree laced with fairy lights in the middle of the woods?

Ever seen those snaps of pizza ovens in the forest catering the late night munchies at the wedding party?

Well. They’re at Hazlewood.

With three different wedding locations on offer in one single venue, it’s a pretty special place.

Let’s talk woodland, as yes, it seems to be the topic of conversation for nearly-weds at the moment.

Summer was a sweet-spot for our woodland venue, and the glorious August sun (when we got it!) was the perfect accompaniment to a whimsical wedding nestled deep in the forest. With a woodland wedding package, your bar is a tree bar, your pizza comes from a purpose built outdoor oven, and your civil ceremony takes place on a charming pagoda surrounded by towering Sequoia trees. Your party happens either on an outdoor dance floor or inside a tipi, and you’re engulfed in nature’s finest.

But it’s not only a summer location, oh no. Picture this: guests wrapped up, decadent scarves, fire pits glowing, lanterns sparkling, leaves falling. A winter woodland wedding speaks to our christmas-lovers. It’s a versatile venue that, if we do say so ourselves, is pretty magical.

Onto the cherry trees. Oh, we adore the cherry trees. They line the outside of a long grassed avenue that leads to an elegant pagoda at the end of it. Either drenched in bright sunlight or thick white snow, the privacy and intimacy the trees bring creates a sense of secrecy and magic. It’s your day.

The Marquee. The Garden Marquee is the absolute queen of venues. It holds a huge 450 guests at maximum capacity and it really does capture the essence of an outdoor wedding but with all the indoor comforts. The fire pits, heating lanterns, outdoor seating, ‘Caravan Bar’ and street-style food stalls create an incredibly social atmosphere - it almost becomes your own city! Visit the stalls, the bar, bounce from one seating area to the dance floor to the cherry blossom avenue, listen to the live music; it’s all yours! Oh, and at night, it turns into a fiery orange party that glows far into the distance…

Farah, a wildly successful local social media influencer, had a marquee wedding with us recently. Check out her thoughts here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDCOwmmgDe4

The Castle itself. Yes, I did say that the marquee was the queen, but the Castle takes top spot. In all its glory, the Castle is an 11th century beauty with history weaved within its walls and its DNA. Formerly a maternity hospital between the years of 1939 and 1953 with over 2,500 babies born, Hazlewood is proud of the mark it has left, and continues to leave, in the history of the local area and indeed further afield. With hidden doors, short cuts, Great Halls, restaurants, wedding suites and spas, there’s nothing missing from this venue. But we can’t give everything away, can we?

Book a show round today and come and see for yourself. Besides, it’s your day!
